Smo kicked off the holiday weekend today with the reveal of his brand new single, “We The People.” The anthem, written by Smo, Casey Beathard, Todd Nielsen and Jason Mater, premiered exclusively with OutdoorHub along with its patriotic music video.
“The song was inspired by what is going on with the world today,” Smo said. “It honors patriotic values that will provoke thought and emotion for the current state of our nation and what it really means to be living in the greatest country on Earth.”
“We The People” follows last week’s release of “Movin’ On Up,” which was touted in the press for being “catchy as all hell.” The country rapper kicked off CMA Fest by dropping another brand new track, “Say My Name,” and its accompanying music video.
Each of the three new tracks encapsulates separate and unique styles, which speaks to Smo’s message that he refuses to be confined to one genre.
“Too many people have tried to put my music in a box… labeled the music I create within a specific genre. But you can’t define Smo and you can’t put my music in a box. You can’t genre-lize me.”
