Rock and Roll over the years
Over the years rock music has transformed a lot. Originally soft classics like Elvis in the 60'S were considered to be the hardest most dangerous work of the devil out there. As said by William Naylor, 62 from Schaumburg, IL “ When we were kids we thought the Russians were taking over the world, and Elvis was the best music around”. “ Of course our parent’s hated it but, at the time he was the King of rock and roll”. As the 60’s faded out and the 70’s came fourth with bands like Aerosmith, and Metallica the world of music began to change. It was an ever evolving cycle that brought out names like the “ New York Dolls, MR. BIG, Ian Anderson, and more.
As the 60’s and 70’s rolled out in came the 80’s where Skynard, and the Grateful Dead held prevalence. Bringing the same message from the 60’s but in a harder more hair bringing fashion. These bands brought in leather and long hair, and an obsession for cocaine and pot. These times were trial and error in the industry. A lot of One hit wonders came out of the 80’s and early 90’s. As the early 90’s came through and brought out act’s like “ Nirvana, Sublime, The Offspring, and Disturbed, the industry got even harder. With now metal and death metal entering the scene bands began to go to crazy extreme’s to get fan’s attention! The music world had developed a whole sect of it’s own artist and styles never before seen on earth. People were distorting their guitar sounds, playing in all drop D. There was a movement a muck that most would have never seen coming as the age of the music grew so did the styles that came out of it. The rock world would be forever changed.
As the 90’s kept on Horror themed music began to emerge. Marlin Manson, Orgy With Pig’s, GWAR, and many other scare the crap out of you band’s started emerging. These bands put on act’s that drew in your attention. They gained a lot of young followers quickly. Partially from the music style, partially from the change in culture, the need to feel accepted soon grew as well. Teen’s all over America and the world began submerging themselves into sects. The industry got larger and larger as years went on. Now in 2014 with over 6000 styles of recorded rock and roll and all different independent artist all over the world, the scene changes, is seemingly endless, everyday new music emerges and things seem to have come to an all time high! Things begin to change, and trends set, bringing music to a whole new level. With songs toping over 300,000,000 viws, and artist all over the world competing for a top spot in the industry. It is harder than ever to be heard!
