Kult ov Azazel: Doing well. Thanks for the interest and interview.
Brandon Harris: When did you decide to begin in the underground music field?
Kult ov Azazel: I started at the age of 14. I played in punk and metal bands back then. Not sure about the others. Cannot answer for them.
Brandon Harris: What is the best thing about being as big as you are in the music scene?
Kult ov Azazel’: Are we big? That’s news to me. I’m still working my day job even after 16 years of doing this band.
Brandon Harris: Who is the member of the band that can keep yall laughing?
Kult ov Azazel: Most likely myself. I’m the joker/comedian of the band.
Brandon Harris: When was your first ever stage appearance?
Kult ov Azazel’s first stage performance was May 30, 1999.
Brandon Harris: How has your band worked over the past few years?
Kult ov Azazel: In the beginning days we’d get together in a warehouse that was our practice space and hash out the songs in the sweltering hell that is South Florida. That’s the way all material released up this point was worked on. Now, being that we are spread all over the USA, we trade files back and forth. The few guys that are somewhat local after drums and guitars are recorded will come over to my studio and play their parts but for the most part nowadays it is file trading back in forth until the song is done.
Brandon Harris: Where does the band spend it’s off time?
Kult ov Azazel: I like to work on my 1995 Camaro Z8, rampaging on Black Ops II and I just started running Arctic Music, the label we were signed to on the first four releases. The other guys I wouldn’t know about. We’re all spread across the USA so outside of the band we don’t really hang out much these days.
Brandon Harris: What got you all into underground music?
Kult ov Azazel: The band that got me into music was Kiss at age 7 or 8.
Brandon Harris: What are important goals to you as a team?
Kult ov Azazel’: To stay true to our musical path and never compromise our integrity for others.
Brandon Harris: What instruments do the members of your band play?
Kult ov Azazel: I, Xaphan, play guitar/vocals in the band. Hammer on drums. Necrol and Armanen on guitars and Vastator on bass
Brandon Harris: What are your hobbies?
Kult ov Azazel: For me, the same as the thing I like to do outside the band. So see the above answer.
Brandon Harris: Who is the main writer in the band?
Kult ov Azazel’s: You’re talking to him.
Brandon Harris: What is the next big milestone for you all?
Kult ov Azazel: That’s a good question.
Brandon Harris: When do you get time to relax?
Kult ov Azazel’:There’s at least 4 hours out of a day I get to relax and it usually consists of sleeping.
Brandon Harris: Where do you plan to be in ten years?
Kult ov Azazel: Still doing this or dead.
Brandon Harris: What does music mean to you?
Kult ov Azazel: Life. It’s the one thing I am good at and love to do. It’s a passion.
Brandon Harris: What instrument’s does the team play?
Kult ov Azazel: I am the vocalist/guitarist, Hammer on drums, Armanen on guitar, Necrol on guitar and Vastator on bass.
Brandon Harris: When is your next tour? Tour?
Kult ov Azazel: After the next album is released. We have a couple one offs for this year. We’ll be playing Wratch of the Goat III fest in September outside Philadelphia and Wrath of the Goat IV fest in Chicago on November 1st.
Brandon Harris: What is the best part of being influential?
Kult ov Azazel’: Never thought about it. These are not things I think about. I didn’t even know we are considered influential to others.
Brandon Harris: Any new bands you all are listening to?
Kult ov Azazel: Sure, there’s PTAHIL, Vein Collector and mixes from my other band’s (Wolfpack 44) upcoming album. I think that’s about it for new bands.
Brandon Harris: Any goals for 2014?
Kult ov Azazel: Get the next album recorded and released.
Brandon Harris: What is the coolest thing you have had happen to you as a band yet?
Kult ov Azazel: Opening for Celtic Frost on the Monotheist tour.
Brandon Harris: Anything to say to your fans?
